Zakopane Style

After visiting with the Kureckis in Rzeszow, Robert Kurecki drove us to Zakopane where he had to attend a meeting of his company. We wandered the hills and neighborhoods of this small Polish town for two days. This style emerged at the same time as the Arts & Crafts Movement in America. Some of the houses remind me of Gaudi's work.

I spent a lot of time photographing tombstones in the Zakopane cemetery and trying to get close-ups of some of the house ornamentation.

The town is quite compact but the
residential neighborhoods are
quite extensive. Here we see
an old man setting out on a
morning walk.
